Textpattern: Do you call it a CMS or a blog software?
Thinking about it, I wouldn’t call Textpattern a CMS or blog software because you can pretty much do what you want with it. It’s all left to the imagination. Look at what people have done. Some made magazines, some made blogs, some made review sites, etc. Textpattern is like a whole bunch of things rolled into one & that’s what I like about it. It’s not for one specific kind of site.
Honestly, if one knows enough about coding, CSS, etc. I say they should use this if they’re not looking for some sort of clogged up content script & one where they can easily integrate their own design & post articles with no issues. Perhaps some mods will be needed here & there, but I think Textpattern works just as good without them.

Here’s a good discussion we had a little while ago.
I think Destry said it best, Textpattern is a Content Publishing System.
