How do I disable the time stamp?
Hi ,
I wanted to make my front page of my textpattern site, static, so I wrote an article and tried to make it a “sticky” and it didn’t publish. It saved but never showed up on my site (http://www.runjeeta.com) So, I re did the post as “Live” and tried to disable the timestamp. No luck. with out the timestamp, it won’t post. How do I disable this? I looked in the wikki and form but did not find the answer.
By the way my template is called Relaxation by John Wrana

Re: How do I disable the time stamp?
- Mark your post as sticky.
- Make sure you have at least two pages: one to be use by your front page, the other for your other sections. The theme you mention just has one page, so just copy the “default” one and have your all your sections use it.
- Create a new article-type form, named, say “sticky”. Copy the “default” form contents, and customize it as appropriate. You can remove the date by getting rid of the “posted” tag.
- On your “default” page (make sure you’ve already made your copy for your other sections to use), replace this:
<txp:article limit="5" />
with something like this:
<txp:if_category>
<!-- we're looking at a category list -->
<txp:article limit="5" form="default" />
<txp:else />
<txp:if_search>
<!-- nope, we're looking at a search results list -->
<txp:article limit="5" form="search_results" />
<txp:else />
<!-- neither, we're looking at the front page -->
<txp:article section="the-section-your-sticky-is-in" status="sticky" limit="5" form="sticky" />
</txp:if_search>
</txp:if_category>

Re: How do I disable the time stamp?
Thank you very much for writing out these intructions for me! I really really appreciate it. I have a question though
When you say:
“On your “default” page (make sure you’ve already made your copy for your other sections to use), replace this: ect..”
By defualt page do you mean the sticky form or the other defualt page?
I think I am missunderstanding a bit becuase I tired what you said and got an enternal server 500 error.
Maybe I got it backwards?
I made my article a sticky.
I copied the default form tempate into a new form called sticky.
I changed the coding in the form called sticky to match what you typed.
Made a section called sticky and matched the section to the article I wanted published.
Nothing changed.
Then I did this:I made my article a sticky.
Copied the default form tempate into my new form to make it the default for other sections
Changed the coding on the default page to match yours above,
got 500 internal server error.
I think this is my error, not yours. I don’t think I understand the heirarchy in TP yet.
I think what I may not be getting is how to assign what tempate to what section.
Anyway, I“ll work with your intstructions tomorrow when I’m more awake and report back.

Under “pages”, the one named “default”.
