The Yak Shack preview
It isn’t quite finished yet but the essential parts (articles, comments, category, about, etc.) are working as far as I can tell so I thought’s I’d offer it up for preliminary comments and see if any bugs and/or display problems show up with various browser/OS combinations for other folks.
And so I give you the TXP based version of <a href=“http://www.ve1cbf.ca/ve1cbf” title=“VE1CBF – The Yak Shack”>The Yak Shack</a> !
Constructive criticism welcome!

Ok,
On a 1024 × 768 browser window there’s a lot of empty space in the individual categories, I would much prefer to read the articles instead of having to click ‘Continue reading’.
The worldmap2.png background is 77kb, reducing the colors to 256 brings it down to 39kb.
Categories, are they sections? How do you do create the url if it’s categories?
Overall, I like the look of the site and the images bring in some color.

The empty space is due primarily to the dearth of articles :-) I suppose I could use the full articles until I get more up on the site. I wanted to make sure it was working first :)

Hmmm, it was already a 256 colour file though the image actually only uses 114 colours. I have converted it to a JPG which dropped it to 11k :-)

Not sure I follow you? The front page, the about page and the articles archive are TXP sections. The categories list is just that.
I just realized that the Home link in the side nav menu goes to the root which is a static HTML holding page but if you click the top logo banner it will return you to the front page. This should work ok once the site is moved to the root.

Only thing I did was to set permanent link mode to /section/title.
