Tell me more please...is textpattern really for me?

Hi guys,
I’m new to text pattern and have only had it on my site runjeeta.com for like, two days. My intent at first was to use Textpattern as CMS to build my website design portfolio. After looking things over, like templates and the textbook, do you guys think this is a good use of textpattern or is it mainly for blogging? I can’t make up my mind, even though I want to play around with textpattern more. For example (and you don’t have to answer these questions, I haven’t finished reading the textbook), can I link to gallery pages from static pages, to show my work, or can i have a static page with as many images in it as I want or can I (gasp!) choose not to use the blogging element of textpattern? As I don’t think it’s a good idea to have a personal blog connected to my portfolio.

Also, I was kind of wondering, how is textpattern different from wordpress? It seems really similar, although, you guys have the special txp tags..

Thanks for any responses,
Raspberryheaven

Also take a look at the Features section of the FAQ.

Once you have had a look at what it can do, you can read about it in a good article by Destry about it too!
