How do I... Get spercific articles?
I am using Textpattern as a CMS and want to be able to get articles for my pages.
Currently my pages are all articles, which are linked to by going to the category or sub category they are in.

So currently all seems hanky dory. However I want to be able to get two articles per page (if not more).
For example a page my have members of a company on, each member will have a photo, title and some text. To stop the people editing this from messing it up I need to have an article for each person, and then repeat that how ever many times own the page (also allowing them to add more in).
So what I want to know is how I can get all the articles that and output them on a page.
I guess I need to know more about where things are stored in the DB and how to call them out depending on their properties, but in textpattern you can only seem to get articles depending on the URL you are on :(
Any help would be great, you can see I am a little lost

Re: How do I... Get spercific articles?
I also have another question you guys may be able to answer!
I currently navigate to pages by catagory, but when I do that rather than by section (even though the catagories are in sections) the page used isn’t the one defined in the section, but defaults to the normal one :(
Any ideas?

Re: How do I... Get spercific articles?
hey, robmcm
I’m not a TXP expert, but that’s how I would go about it: I would create a section just for this page and in the template for this section I would call all the articles in that section, possibly with the
<txp:if_different>
tag. I do not know if it will work, I have not tried it, but this would be my first try.
As regards your second question, I’m not sure if I understand. Categories are not in sections, articles are in sections. Have you specified the desired section in each article? Or check the plugin cbs_category_list, I’ve used it for navigation by category only with specific sections and it works very well.

Yes I was using that plug in but when I got to the pages they were not using the correct page template. The only place to set the page template was in the section settings… If I go to the same article but via the section it is in I get the correct page template.
As you can tell it has confused me some what, I’ll be in monday with a fresh head. Thanks
