Prevent news-feed updating with any small text fixes
If I make some small fixes to article posted year ago how do I prevent it to be feeded again, like a new article? When I save it, it keeps feeding again altough the posted date of the article is correct, meaning the original, old one. Is this normal or not?

So any suggestions: which would be the best way to organize articles which should be listed on the front-page and feeded when first posted, but not later if the text is fixed?

Re: Prevent news-feed updating with any small text fixes
No, it’s probably me who don’t understand :) As a new TXP user there maybe already exists some solution which I just haven’t found yet. It seems to be so flexible that there sure is a way to do this.
On my front-page is a short list where I display new items from two sections – general articles and portfolio additions. Clicking link takes to the article displayed with it’s own specific section template and so on. So I want these links be feeded when they are first posted, hot and new! And that’s working well of course (I’m using Feedburner also, which seems to be very fine too). Later those older portfolio-items are found only from their own “index-page” where they are nicely listed. So it’s very basic stuff.
But if I want for example fix a typo say, a year later, I don’t want the article be feeded again, like a new one. I don’t want to notify people about the same old thing again :) I’m using chh_article_custom plugin to list links on the frontpage, filtering couple of static sections out.
Thanks for any help – I hope this is not too silly question…

It only updates that feed entry (if the user has already got it), it doesn’t add a new one. Unless, perhaps, you’re resetting the posted date when you’re making your changes?

Yeah, that’s true. It’s just annoying it changes the feed’s date so the old item jumps at the top when showed in reader, at least in some cases / readers. The actual article’s “posted” date keeps right but feed gets the date of typo fixing. But thanks for help, I have to study more about these things.

Re: Prevent news-feed updating with any small text fixes
Hmm, that sucks. I know in the reader I use – SharpReader – I’d only know about it if I already had fetched the article. If I hadn’t, I’d see no change. If I had, it remains where it should in the list, but is italicized (as compared to new articles being in bold).

Yes, that is little annoying. Have to learn to write them right at the first place :)
