txp site 'within' a txp site
say you have a main site (home page at circus.com/index.php) – and you want to run another complete txp install or mini-site a few levels down (say circus.com/animals/education/index.php)
the reason for having a mini-site is due to the complexity of the main site – and you want to run things differently on the mini-site (URL scheme, section organisation, design, etc) and also make it easier for contributors (only offering specific subset of categories, etc)
are there going to be any problems doing this? (the two txp installs do not need to share any data)
if you have a URL of circus.com/animals/education – will the htaccess of the primary txp site cause conflicts or 404s?
any comments appreciated

Re: txp site 'within' a txp site
No, it won’t raise problems.
I, for instance, have my ‘live’ textpattern install at http://awasteofwords.com/ and a second (truly stand-alone) installation for development and testing located in a subordinate folder.
The .htaccess rewrite rule specifies that /index.php should be used to handle all missing files and folders. With a second physical textpattern instance inside a subordinate folder there’s no reason for that rule to chime in.
