Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

Not much experience with those, no. I’ve used them without incident, but never written any. And yeah, I found the error odd myself. Ah well. I’ll live with the not-quite-so-cool interface for the time being. Anyone else had problems with adding this to a clean (not-modded) 4.0.x?

Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

Hi, I’ve installed the admin facelifts and they look great! I’m currently trying out philippe’s version, but I’ve come across a small problem:

In textpattern.css, way down at the bottom almost, is this bit of code:

<code>#areas a:hover { background: #f4f4ef url(txp_img/tabsbg_top21w.png) repeat-x 50% 100%; }</code>

Problem is that tabsbg_top21w.png doesn’t exist, and it logs me in the visitor’s log. I have about 15 hits of my own just having looked at the admin side :(

My question then is, what is the image supposed to be?

Thanks very much, for the help and the styles :D

Edit: Also, when I edit an article and re-save it, these errors pop out at the head of the page. The articles get saved though.

<code> Notice: Undefined index: Status in /home/moonsha/public_html/beyond/root/txp/textpattern/include/txp_article.php on line 139
Notice: Undefined index: Status in /home/moonsha/public_html/beyond/root/txp/textpattern/include/txp_article.php on line 140
Notice: Undefined index: Status in /home/moonsha/public_html/beyond/root/txp/textpattern/include/txp_article.php on line 141
Notice: Undefined index: Status in /home/moonsha/public_html/beyond/root/txp/textpattern/include/txp_article.php on line 212 </code>

Editus secundus: Erm. The latter error might not have been caused by the facelift. I just noticed that my host’s had her PHP version updated, and that may have been it _;
The picture is still a riddle thought.

Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

I just installed Mary’s version in 4.03 and it looks and works great. I can’t imagine not using it on every site it’s so good.

Thanks to Mary.

Image had gone on holidays somehow :-(
apologies.
I’ve updated the download package with the image.

Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

Just whacked it onto my 4.0.3 install, working like a treat, thanks :)

I did have to whitelist it via adblock when using filterset.g updater however, otherwise it refused to load the stylesheet properly.

Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

Although I like both designs, I think future admin panels should look something similar to:

I think I’ll make it an side-project for me. It’ll keep me busy.

Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

I’ve installed a copy on localhost and it looks pretty funky. It might go some way to making things a little easier for non-techie users.

A change is as good as a holiday – nice work, Mary and Philippe.

Re: Admin. Facelift, take 2

@Phillipe

Any chance on updating your admin interface file for 4.0.4? I pulled a diff file and the changes in the lib file are fairly signifigant. But I sure do miss it already. Is it just me or are the buttons too small in the stock admin layout? I have a wuxga display @1900×1200 and after updating I have to really focus my mouse to click anything in the interface.

By popular request, updated for TXP 404: download this one.

Sorry about the delay.

Any chances of an update for TXP 4.0.5?

I suppose you misunderstood my original statement. I’m well-aware that Textpattern 4.0.5 is out; I was requesting an update to the txplib_head.php in the facelift zip, if applicable.
