Textpattern > Portal

How I can make a web portal with Textpattern (4.03v)? The portal must have this:

- archive
- categories (for example: Sport, Art etc.)

What i need for this?

Re: Textpattern > Portal

One way might be to create a section for each topical ares such as Sports, Arts etc, and then you can have specific categories within those (eg Hockey, Football, Painting, Music etc).

You will need hosting with a MySQL database, PHP capable, Textpattern. Other needs depends on specific site requirements (eg if you need a plugin for a certain feature etc).

This is just a general answer as your question is rather broad.

I usually make myself similar questions: I have sugar, I have flour, I have eggs, but how do I make my birthday cake?
Then, I have many options: ask specific questions about how to mix the ingredients, read recipes books, make experiments (danger) and learn from mistakes (test and error method is hard and frustrating, but you usually learn)

What’s that attitude, Portal? Do you think this is something magic that you say some “abracadabra” and your TXP installation becomes a portal?
You have to try and make mistakes, read manuals, ask specific questions (after searching the forum) and etc. You also need predisposition.

Please, read the FAQ, and also the manual and search the forums
