Re: [archived] vg_related_articles 0.1 - related articles by keywords
Things can relate in so many different ways and how many articles will have only one very specific keyword applying? If that were our model we could just as well use categories instead of keywords.
Considering that MySQL has built in FULLTEXT search features with rank of relevancy assigned I think it makes perfect sense to adapt this plugin to use it.

Re: [archived] vg_related_articles 0.1 - related articles by keywords
well having used it there are some further features, or values I’d liekt o see added – a lonesome article title alone looks rather isolated, so how about adding thing slike article name, posted on, posted by and more importantly expanding it so that it relates to articles with the same keyword regardless of thec ategory – i just relasied that it’s limited to the same category only at present, but it would be great to see cross category relations.
Anyone else had aproblem with it wrapping but adding the text within the wrap attribute on teh page? So if you use “br” it actually displays br at the end of the link. Strange
thanks

Re: [archived] vg_related_articles 0.1 - related articles by keywords
has anyone been able to use this on txp 4.0?
I get no output at all.
Id love to be able to specify a form for the articles to be displayed in.

Re: [archived] vg_related_articles 0.1 - related articles by keywords
I used vg_related_articles plugin version 0.1, but it doesnt work properly. So i
look at it and found some mistakes in the code:
- bad brackets in the SQL code – if the article was in 2 categories, then it added OR category2=XXX in the
WHERE clausule. It causes, that there were all articles from category2 in the relevant article list (even those
which were not yet published)
<br>
- bad keywords spliting – some bad regular expresion, which causes that my
keywords which contains “s” were splited: “mysql” —-> “my” and “ql”
<br>
- sometimes i made new line in keywords field, after that the plugin generates
also blank keyword and it causes OR Keywords LIKE “%%” in the SQL and after that all
articles were in the relevant article list.
So i fixed it and changed it a bit – i changed the sorting – now it is sorted
by the first category of the recent article and by date on the second place (it means, that
on the first places will be relevant articles from the same category as recent article)
If you want you can download my changes here: <a href=“http://petr.vaclavek.com/ukazky/vg_related_articles_vac.txt”>http://petr.vaclavek.com/ukazky/vg_related_articles_vac.txt</a>
and read something about it in my article: <a href=“http://petr.vaclavek.com/article/274/Textpattern-plugin-pro-relevantni-clanky-vg_related_articles”>http://petr.vaclavek.com/article/274/Textpattern-plugin-pro-relevantni-clanky-vg_related_articles</a>

I transfered the plugin to standard format, so now you can download it here: <a href=“http://petr.vaclavek.com/ukazky/vg_related_articles_vac.txt”>vg_related_articles_vac</a>

For some reason, the links to the related articles are in messy mode. Can I switch it to clean URLs?

Hi, all! This plug-in does not work for me. I use in keywords cyrillic symbols. I cannot use latin symbols. Now it simply deduces the list of last articles :( That it is possible to make that it normally worked?
