Confusing Reggae-Themed Site

Hello, I just redesigned the website for my band, The Poison Dart.

www.thepoisondart.com

It is fluid-width, confusing, and busy. There is no nav. Still quite rough around the edges and I have only tested it in Safari and Camino so far.

Adding to the confusion is a hardcore reggae theme, even though we aren’t really a reggae band. We do have a couple of reggae songs. But I suppose if I had to narrow it down, one of our biggest influences would be Neil Young.

It is powered by Textpattern using one plugin: rss_suparchive for the show dates. Helvetica is the font used.

Diss it!

Re: Confusing Reggae-Themed Site

Very nice and simple. I like it!
And I like the trick you did for have full-height columns.

I like rough edges! I usually dont like rounded corners… but the true is I dont know how to apply them…
Also, I like you dont use practically any images for aesthetics… plain CSS art… I like that.

And I dont think it’s is confusing. I like the way all the information is displayed in the home page.

Finally: the white text over the yellow background is a bit difficult to read.
Maybe a darker color could make it more legible and also give the site another color.

PS: I’m also working on my band website and I hope to post it in the forum soon.
