The site looks good.
I do have two comments which you are free to ignore…
My main complaint is that the type is too small on my Mac.
Barely readable in FireFox. Safari was ok though.
Might want to bump up the body font size, 62.5% seems pretty small.
The other thing that struck me was that the Live Search seems to be just floating, not aligned with any other elements. Tucking it into the little indent right above the Recent Articles would look better to me.

I think it looks nice. I would say the text is a bit small too. And I know I am in the minority, but you may want to increase the width of your background image by about 100-120 px. (60 left-60 right) On a large display 1900+ the design “breaks” on the far left and far right edges.
