Re: Southern Cross Blinds

Very nice, very clean.

It should have a lot more images and the thumbnails should be a lot bigger – images sell products.

Perhaps you should think about changing the navigation on the Product Range page. When you click on Exterior, for example, you should be taken to a page with the headline “Exterior Product Range” and then links to the products in the range immediately below. The links to the other product ranges should then be on the right.

Re: Southern Cross Blinds

I’m Sorry, but I’m with Skoggy. This is a visual product. I want to see pictures of it. It says choose a product for your home and you click on it and it takes you to a page that looks exactly like the one you left….with no images. I think the shell and functionality are there and look great but lack any pizazz to really get someone (a user) to stay for longer than a few clicks before they hit the back button.

Re: Southern Cross Blinds

hello hello

thanks for the feedback. sometimes, in my experience anyway, its easy to let the creativity fizzle when it goes on for too long. maybe its just lack of direction? whatever :D

anyway, i re-attacked the site and have made some changes to both the style and content.

  1. home page is at the end of the line. this business has committed towards getting more product images and content to publish on the site which will provide more elements to work with. hence, ‘til last.
  2. to the making a selection section. what do you think of the article thumbs? too bright (b & w)? do they clash with image used below the site navigation?
  3. on a product page, canvas & fabric awnings (as it has the most images for now), do you think the gap between the thumbnails and the right column does any viewing damage? reduce thumbs to allow 4 to a row?

at any rate, i appreciate the comments so far.

muchos gracias skoggy, ricetxp and soulship

Definitely a step in the right direction

I think they may get too small. I think the size and spacing is about right on my monitor.

I have had a few clents in the past that either had 0(zero) images or even worse really really poor images. It is always hard to deal with either situation. Good luck!
