Installation problems with MySQL 4.1

Hello,

I have installed Textpattern numerous time before, but today as I was installing it in a different server, I ran into the following problem:

Everything went well, but during the propogation of tables step, this list of errors were shown:

There were 89 errors during the installation. You can ask for help in the Textpattern forums.

I am using the latest version of Textpattern in MySQL 4.1.1. The database name was vjcmath, and it was running in localhost.

When I took a look at the problem using phpMyAdmin, despit the above errors, the tables were propogated, but I have trouble logging in.

I would be very much grateful for any assistance.

MySQL 4.1.1 is an alpha release that should never be used in a production environment. Mysql 4.1.x wasn’t deemed production ready until 4.1.7 which appeared about 1,5 years later than 4.1.1. ( more… )

What you are experiencing is this bug: http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=2130. You should update to a stable version of MySQL and your problems will disappear.
