Re: SmartSVN - MAC SVN with GUI

Also svnX

Note .: Universal binaries for SVN installer for Intel Based Macs are available now as well. from martin OTT’s page (Google)
pro: Works well on Tiger,
con.: No documentation, so you have to fiddle your way through. I forgot to mention, there is no import command, so you have to do that one from there command line.

regards, marios

Re: SmartSVN - MAC SVN with GUI

If you want to use the svn+ssh:// protocol you don’t need to tie svnserve to inetd. svnserve will be spawned (using your user credentials) through an ssh tunnel automatically. All you need is ssh access and svnserve in your path. More details in the SVN book

Some of the GUI clients don’t like svn+ssh:// though.

Also if you are going to launch svn through inetd, you probably want to run it as it’s own user (say svn) so it won’t be able to hurt other services is compromised. Although I have no idea how to do that using launchd on OSX.

Oh and RapidSVN is a decent cross platform Open Source SVN GUI. Somethings I like better then svnX others I don’t.
