Page URLs, only go from index.php

Hi all,

I have got my site up and running using TextPattern.
I have an issue now though:

My home page works fin, you browse to the site, and the correct page displays.
Now, if I need to browse to, sa, the About section, the URL is http://www.mysite.com/index.php/about/. I would like this to be plaing old http://www.mysite.com/about/. how can I achieve this ? When I browse directly to http://www.mysite.com/about/, I am told the page does not exist.

The “Site URL” in my preferences is www.mysite.com/index.php but when I remove index.php from the end of the site url, no pages display on my site.

Has anybody got any idea what I can do here ?

Re: Page URLs, only go from index.php

Looks like you don’t have mod_rewrite available to you, in which case, there’s nothing you can do.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Would I need to speak to my host about that ? Or what do I need to do ?

Re: Page URLs, only go from index.php

FAQ.

“If none of those changes work, or if they cause a 500 server error, you’ll need to use “messy” URLs instead, or ask your hosting company for help.”
