links to selected articles

Hi,

I’m doing a blog with a few static pages.
Customer wants to be able to display selected articles on the front page, i.e. not the newest, most klicked, most commented or anything but just a few that he considers most important.

How would you do that?

I am thinking about creating a new section “toparticle” (with the default page template) and make him put whatever articles he wants to be displayed into that section. When he wants to remove it, he just has to switch the section.

I think that’s the easiest way to do it… or am I wrong?

(I also have in mind to do it with a custom field but I think that’s more clicks for the customer to perform…?)

Re: links to selected articles

That’s probably the simplest way Birgit. Just create a section for the front-page only and put the articles in there. When he needs to remove them from the front-page he simply changes the article’s section. Simple methinks.

Re: links to selected articles

Wouldn’t two categories be sufficient for this purpose instead of a separate section?

Re: links to selected articles

The idea here was to make it as simple as possible for the end-user, which isn’t Birgit, to take articles off the front-page. Simply changing an article’s section is about as simple as it gets.
