Plugin License

Has anyone plans to change his plugin licence after txp is BSD

Can the plugins still published as GPL?

How about CC-BY-NC?

Re: Plugin License

Public domain is not a choice for me, because in Germany there is no equivalent to public domain.

I think CC-BY-NC with asking for a little fee for commerical uses.

Sounds doubtful. You’re saying Beethoven still owns the copyright to his music?

Re: Plugin License

Bastian is thinking of copyright Copyright, which in Germany is not transferrable (and yes it ceases 70 years after the death of the creator). However you can of course transfer all rights of use in whichever way you like. So it doesn’t really affect the choice of software licenses.

Re: Plugin License

I’m not an expert for copyright, but i think German laws don’t know Public Domain.

Copyright translated to German is Urheberrecht. Urheber -> Creator and Recht -> right
Semantic Urheberrecht is the rights the creator has on something he created,
While copyright is the right to copy something.

Another point on view.

As far as i know, copyright (Uhrheberrecht) is inalienable, you may not even give it away.
But of course you can allow everyone to copy, use and distribute without citing.
The effect is nearly the same.

[And again: Fool my teacher, i hate to fail writing what i want to express. Perhaps some Germans are arround and have a look.]
