Jersey Sushi
Hi everybody,
I’ve been playing around with textpattern for a month or so now – still learning more every day!
Here is my first little project http://www.jerseysushi.com
It’s a Sushi business based in Jersey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom.
I’ve used the following plug-in’s found on this forum:- dru_random_image (rotates the testimonial banners and large promo)
- kml_flashembed (for embedding flash files)
- ob1_title (for generating relevant page titles – great for SEO)
- zem_contact_reborn (yee old faithful contact form – also used as a competition form)
Look forward to your feedback.

PS. I know the CSS isn’t perfect (I’ve used px for font sizes and I’m going to loose the (div align=“centre”) next time I do some code changes)

Re: Jersey Sushi
Nice site, well done :)
just one question: how did you integrate the order ability? Is it an app?? Anf if so, which one?

Hi Alexandra,
Thanks for the feedback!
A friend developed the ordering section based on a shopping cart system he wrote. Its not the best in the world, but it does the job. It’s been customised to make it more relevant to ordering food rather than products.
Shame there isn’t a textpattern solution for this type of thing :(

I think it’s fantastic!
And now I’m salivating… ;-)

Re: Jersey Sushi
Like it very much too… however It´s little too much information in the boxes (like “Doing the business…” and “Our customers tell…”). Perhaps just my taste, but I think the pictures and titles would be enough.
Summary: First time visitors (like me) don´t know where to start reading, “text all over the place”.
But you may not agree…(?)

Hi Skoggy,
Thanks for the feedback.
I don’t disagree with your opinion, its certainly a valid one. The approach with the banners are to act as content leaders – they give people byte sizes bits of information (a taster) which in turn leads visitors further into the website. Gives them something to connect with.
Nice website BTW.

Re: Jersey Sushi
Very impressed by the Sushi site. Very well done. Without examining it in-depth, one interesting thing is how you keep the left and right columns static, similar to how most designers typically handle headers and footers. You a need a slogan that says “Columns are the new Headers and Footers.”
Gorgeous colors…very bright and vibrant site.

Re: Jersey Sushi
I think it’s perfect. If it would be delivering here, I’d even order some Sushi with this Site.
The flash-embed, where is it used, I couldn’t see it ?
regards
