URL rewriting

The blogging software I used to use stored articles in the format /archives/2005/08/04/entry-name. I have Textpattern running fine, but it’s storing the articles without the /archives/ part at the beginning. What do I need to add to my htaccess file to make the original URLs work as well as the new ones?
