problem saving new article with custom published date

When I write a new article and enter a custom publish date and hit PUBLISH, the publish date reverts to the current time&date, as if the ‘Reset time to now’ box was checked.

I can SAVE the article subsequently with a custom date – it just seems to be the first time I save it that there’s a problem.

Re: problem saving new article with custom published date

This is the standard behavior. It puzzled me for a while too, especially in the context of creating a calendar of future events.

Re: problem saving new article with custom published date

I think (read speculate) the first time you post an article it grabs the current time automatically, because that is supposed to be the posted date. Future and past posts, may have been added as a kind of a after-thought.
