database not found

Hello,

I’m trying to connect the textpattern installation in one server to a database hosted in another server. I don’t really know if this is possible or not but I get some errors plus a “database not found” message.

I don’t know either if this is a textpattern or MySql issue. But i thought there was a way to connect the textpattern installation to a remote server.

I have tryied changing the settings ine the config.php file but no success…

just want to know if someone did something similar…. and how…if succesful

Most hosts do not allow the remote use of databases for security reasons. If you really need to do this, I suggest opening a support ticket with them and asking if they’ll make an exception for you.
