Formatting excerpt and 'read more ...' link

Hi,

On my home page i want to give a list of some article excerpts with a ‘read more’ link after each of them. So far no problem, i use the following code:

<txp:excerpt />
<txp:permlink>read more..</txp:permlink>

However, i want the ‘read more’ link to immediately follow the last full stop of the excerpt, instead of on a new line. But since the excerpt is automatically surronded by <p> tags, the above code always puts the read more on a new line.

Disired formatting example:

Article title
This is the exerpt formating I want. [more …]

Current formatting example:

Article title
This is the current formatting of the excerpt.
[more …]

Any ideas ? I have read numerous posting on all Textpattern sites, but i have not come accross this so far. Thanks,

The post you provided exactly solved my problem. Thanks a million !!! I must have missed that post somehouw. I am using the strip-tags plugin around my excerpt and it works like a breeze.
