Re: sorting article lists

oic.

so is there any way to make <code>sortby=“field(Category1, ‘important’)”</code> work? (there was a problem with it getting doSlashed, which seems to be happening to me too) would it be the same as if your URL was <code>…/index.php?c=important</code> instead of just <code>…/index.php</code> ? could you set this value c=important by default without digging in and altering textpattern’s php?

Re: sorting article lists

Not the way you’re trying, tags generally can’t be nested that way (used as parameter values for another tag), I’m afraid.

Are you wanting to display only articles from 1 category?

Re: sorting article lists

yeah, i’m wanting to display articles from one category (on the main page). or one section, it doesn’t matter. the site’s still early in development.

this is my first time dealing with textpattern, in case that wasn’t obvious.

Re: sorting article lists

Okay, what you want to to is either:

  • Have only one section set to display on the front page (change this is the sections tab)
  • Use the article_custom tag.
