[request] text file editor
I would like to be able to edit some files on my server which contain html, php, all sorts of stuff, that are used on the site. These files are not articles and are not stored in the database. I have trawled the list of plugins and don’t see anything that would fit – editors seem to be for articles in the db only.
Something with the ability to display and allow edit of any file in a named directory would be very useful for site maintenance. It must also be enabled only for the top-level privileges, Publisher only, so hence should be presented as a plugin in the admin interface.

This isn’t a plugin but I found it to be rather unique.
It’s called Orange and you just drop it into a directory and it gives you edit access to pages.
Maybe it could be used as a basis for a plugin?

That looks rather handy. I shall give it a go myself (though not from the plug-in point-of-view I should add). :)
