can't get the dutch language working.
Hello,
I try to get TPX work in Dutch.
I tried this without any success.
. Clear your browser’s cache, and then hit refresh.
. log out of the admin section, and log back in.
. See if things are right using another browser.
I tried with FF on the same computer , no success.
. load the Dutch file manually.
He, on the screen i looks like the dutch file must be there but in the directory there is only the englisch file.
I put the nl-nl.txt in the lang directory, no success.
Who knows how i can get things working ?

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
@roelof
take one step at a time, and keep it simple.
1)Verify , if dutch is installed, under admin/prefs and the yellow sub header “manage languages”, click on it.
You will be presented with a list showing you which ones are missing or have been installed.
2)If it isn’t installed, click on the install link nest to your language,
the link should be reverted to updated
2)right below the yellow subheaders that I mentioneed, there is drop down list, reveal the list and select dutch,
3)next click on save right next to your drop down list.
That’s it, no need to do anything manually, the language file get’s fetched automatically through xml-RPC.
(Note allso that your browser doesn’t have anyting todo with these settings)
regards, marios

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
oke,
If verified it and there it looks like dutch is installed.
But if a look at the lang directory there is only the english file.
Therefore i put the dutch file manually in that directory but nothing changed.
If someone will they can get a account to look into it. ??

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
You can do that by droping a mail through the forum mailer, and I’d be willing to give you a hand,
but be informed, that I can not be held responsible for your account information’s safety while it travels through the Internet.
Just reset your password after some hours, if you are in doubt.
(Anyway, you are not running a corporate Site)

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
You could try to disable all your plugins (and if it works enabling them one by one) but I doubt it is caused by a plugin.
What if you reinstall TXP again? And with that I mean just do the normal upgrade procedure.
By the way: you do not need the dutch language file in the textpattern/lang folder

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
oke,
ik heb even wat anders geprobeerd.
ik heb TPX even helemaal opnieuw geinstalleerd.
Toen kreeg ik alles in het Nederlands, maar zodra ik ook Engels installeer als tweede taal , krijg ik het nederlands niet weer terug.
IK gebruik versie 3.0.4. rev. 1188 en dit is mijn dianostics :

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
The langauge data will be installed in the database, not a file.
Try this:
Go to admin > preferences > manage languages.
What is written beside the Nederlands entry? (Should be one of “Install”, “Update”, or “Updated”, or their equivalents)
If it says “Update” or “Updated”, that language is installed. If it says “Install”, you need to click on that link to install it.
Once you’ve installed a language, you need to make it active – use the “Currently active language” drop down list near the top of that page, and click Save.
Is Nederlands installed? Does it appear in that drop-down list? Have you selected it?
Please don’t mess around with language files unless you know what you’re doing, you’ll just make it harder for us to help you. That’s only for installing custom translations.

Re: can't get the dutch language working.
i tried it and dutch is updated.
It appears in the drop-down list annd i have selected it.
But nothing happens.
A Englisch translation of a earlier post.
I reinstalled TPX all and then everything is in Dutch.
When i install for example Englisch (GB) then eveything is in Englisch and stay so no mather what i choose for active language.
Kees: that worked good. Im talking about http://test.tamarawobben.nl a subdir for testing purposes and that’s noit working good.
