Re: language question

I think this is probably a cache issue, Roelof. Try a few things first:

 • Clear your browser’s cache, and then hit refresh.
 • Log out of the admin section, and log back in.
 • See if things are right using another browser.
 • Load the Dutch file manually.

And, if all of the above fail, post in the troubleshooting forum. Because, obviously, the tabs shouldn’t be English.

Re: language question

Clear your browser’s cache, and then hit refresh.

You mean clear the directory temporary internet files ??
I did that but no success.

Log out of the admin section, and log back in.

No success.

See if things are right using another browser.

I tried with FF on the same computer , no success.

Load the Dutch file manually.

He, on the screen i looks like the dutch file must be there but in the directory there is only the englisch file.
The dutch file is nl_nl.txt ??

And, if all of the above fail, post in the troubleshooting forum. Because, obviously, the tabs shouldn’t be English.

Go to preferences > manage languages, and click ‘install’ next to ‘nederlands’. Then set ‘Currently active language’ to Nederlands.

Re: language question

Els, I assumed that the Dutch file was already installed, because only installed localized language files are available in the currently active dropdown list. Roelof, am I wrong?

Re: language question

Elenita, you’re right, but as he said that only the english file was in the lang directory, I thought it couldn’t hurt to install it (again?). But how dutch could have been in the dropdown list, I don’t understand… Maybe at some point in the past it has been there?

Re: language question

i think you are wrong.
I can choose dutch but as i said there was no nl-nl.txt.

I put it there but no success.

Therefore i open a item in the troubleshootng section.

Re: language question

Roleof, sorry for not being clearer. When I said to load the file manually, I meant to use the “Install from file (experts only)” that’s linked to in the manage languages page. It’s at the very bottom.

but as he said that only the english file was in the lang directory, I thought it couldn’t hurt to install it (again?)

I don’t think language files are actually kept in the lang/ directory; the database seems likelier. The only file I see in that directory of my own install is en_gb.txt (British English), and I don’t have that installed.

Re: language question

Languages are indeed installed in the database. The ‘lang’ directory is for custom languages, or for when language updates can’t be downloaded.

Re: language question

Oh yes, I forgot that, because I have a custom file. But clicking ‘install’ for the language you want to use should work then, shouldn’t it?

Re: language question

Okay, let’s stop answering to this thread. There is another one in Troubleshooting. Otherwise Roelof will be confused ;)
