kitsimons.com

My first tentative steps into the world of Textpattern. There’s much, much more I want to do with this when time allows. The design was intended to be simple, flat blocks that allow for flexibility evolving the design in the future.

www.kitsimons.com

Comments, criticisms and anything else you care to mention would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Simon,

Clean and simple, loads fast, I like it.

The only thing I see is that when you click on comments it takes you to the comment form as opposed to the top of the comments where you can read what others have said.

Well spotted hcgtv – thank you.

The comments link should now link to the start of the comments.

Re: kitsimons.com

Nice clean look. Very nice car! :) Seems like a lot of wasted space between the title and the top menu though. Maybe shrink it a bit, or add a nice top graphic?

Re: kitsimons.com

Thanks NyteOwl. I’m going to be paying for that car for the next 3 years, but hell – it’s worth it ;-) I’m not sure which area of white space you’re referring to – there is an image between the “kitsimons” title at the top and black navigation strip. If that’s the bit you’re referring to, perhaps the image failed to load for some reason? If you’re referring to another space then please let me know. Cheers.

Ah ok. the “banner” subdirectory caused it to get caught in my ad-banner content filter :)

Looks really nice!

I really wouldn’t want to pay what my insurance company would charge around here for an Alfa :)

I used to run AdBlock until I made a forum post similar to yours where I thought a site had issues.

After that, I realized that keeping up with regexp filters where I caught the ads I wanted to but also not cause sites to render bad was a full time job.

Today I just deal with ads.

Re: kitsimons.com

You don’t even want to know what the insurance costs me on the Alfa… I could have been sensible and got a Ford, but oh no.

Thanks for the info on the ad blockers. It hadn’t even occured to me naming a folder “banner” would cause issues – to be honest though if I were serving banner ads the last thing I’d do is put them in a folder named “banner”.

Mattias: Thanks for the kind words. And congratulations on the Ice Hockey gold curses!
