weird problem... have no clue
I am creating a site for a cattery… everytime I tried saving a page template with a certain text in it TXP would not save it but would rather give me a 404 page. the word that would cause this is ‘lynx’ followed by any word. ‘lynx’ alone caused no problems. I tested this many times and for some reason when that word followed by another word is in any text area (pages, forms, content) it returns a 404… Does anybody have any clue why this happens or how I can get around it. I really need to use the word!
Blessings,
jeremy

Re: weird problem... have no clue
There’s something else going on, Textpattern doesn’t care what words you put in the textarea. I can fill my textareas with “lynx” and it saves correctly.
Can you post your diagnostics details? What’s the url that appears in your address bar when you receive the 404 error?

just a thought… is it possiblle this has something to do with mod_security? if your using apache and have mod_security turned on some freaky things can happen… I haven’t seen a 404, but I’ve seen other weird stuff happen.

Re: weird problem... have no clue
Try temporarily deleting your htaccess and see what error you are getting then. I am with rbe and think it might have something to do with mod_security. It’s probably a cascading error, meaning it may be looking for the error-document you (or your hoster) specified for 412 (or 503 or whatever), and since it doesn’t exist the request is again handled by textpattern (because that’s how clean urls operate).
