Want a real good iconset gathering suggestions

Hi,

I am in the process of building a corporate Site that offers Web Design Services,

What I am looking for is a reallly good Iconset that I can choose from.

Googling my way around and iconstock.com, etc did not satisfy me.

Most of the Icon sets that I found are Interface Icons for software.

What I need is an Icon Set , that associates with the below categories.

<h2>Examples</h2>

Services	associated keywords
CSS/XHTML	valid pages,meta information,content and presentation separation,etc,
Standard package	Your Site,5 pages,contact,About,etc,
Custom made	According to your needs,form processing,gallery,etc
FAQ	How can I find out…(This is meant as a section for client info)
Google,Search ranking	stats,high search ranking,etc
Accessibility	Users, Target audience,etc,Browsers
Extensibility	Maintenence etc..
Pricing	Fees,cost,…
Contact	e-mail,..
Redesign	future,backwards compatability,…

+Any other Icons that could come in handy.

(Note:I’d like to purchase readymade Icons in this scope,license for 1 website)
EDIT.:I forgot to mention,the Icons should be in all standard sizes and good quality(Like the ones that Jon Hicks does) and allso be available in pastels

Any Ideas ?

Yes I did, and I found them to be awfull, something like that would more be good for your mail client.
What I think is that, usually something like what I’m looking for is custom made, but I thought to give it a try here.

Did you see Free! Icons for your website or application? It was kind of popular the other day.

You might also try IconBuffet. Some of the Starter Icons are very affordable.

I’ve looked into it.As I mentioned above most of these are mainly interface Icons, so they have a quite limited scope and don’t fulfill the requirements.
One of these requirements is a set of standard sizes to choose from:
Sizes: 128×128 48×48 32×32 24×24 16×16 pix.
Another one, that they are available in pastels.(So you can have hover or active states.
(That’s not a major issue though and can be customized in Photoshop)
I’ts quite amazing to see, that many times you can not get what you need,regardless the competition that’s there, even if you are willing to pay for it.
Another thing that I observed, is that they all look so conventional,allmost XP like.
The one that comes close to what I need is iconshock, I post my findings here for any other folks looking.

P.S.: @michael, thanks for the links,

EDIT.: I like to think about Icons, as a different set of language or meta language, if you like or symbol language, so whats the use of an Iconset, if you can get only the “A”,“B”,“C” and“Z”, but not the whole alphabet ?

I guess you could read Dan Cederholm’s Anatomy of an Icon and make your own. But that is something I definitely have no plans to try.

It would take too much time for a whole Icon set, and then professional Graphic Designers probably can do it better.

edit: Forgot to mention, I’d chat with you about the icons and what style you want them done in then make up one or two for demonstration purposes.
