The live search is powered by unobtrusive JavaScript
If JS isn’t available, the normal textpattern search still works. Live search adds “swish”, though. :)
I’m a little confused regarding the forms (talking txp “forms”), though. I’m assuming you are using some for templating your pages or something? If so, wouldn’t templated content be on most pages or every page anyway?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
I understand the unobtrusive JavaScript but the search form doesn’t work at all. I can’t get it to do anything.
Re: the forms > yes I use a templating method and what I have found is that the search function only searches articles, so then would i have to make everything an article if I want it searched?
To even the least of these…

That’s strange – mine works fine without JavaScript. What does it do? Send you to a blank page? If so, have you checked things like your search results form, etc?

I think you’re right there. I guess you could argue that the actual substance is part of articles. You could probably hack the search script to search the other database tables…

It would probably make sense to put all of your content in “articles”. That’s what they are there for, anyways…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
Is there a way to change the position of the live search field? Hopefully I explain this clearly…basically the live search field lines up with the front of the searchbox(basically aligning on the left). I need it to line up on the right side(basically the back end of the live search filed aligning on the right). This is because my search field is on the right side of my screen and when someone searches, the live search field goes off the screen and the person has to scroll to the right to read the thing. Thanks.
A note. I think it would be a nice little feature that when someone clicks the web page(away from the live search field) the live search field automatically closes.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
I have two questions:
http://blog.wordstudio.cz – on this site I have rss_live_search and I don’t know how to customize these things:
1.) If you write to my search, the results box has the free space between the input and results. Why? There is no margin or padding.
2.) How can I customize in results box the space between the link to article and the perex of the article? I have there free space and I don’ know how to remove it. Again – no margin or padding is setted in my css.
Thanx

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
Hi there guys,
having some issues with this plugin.
I’m re-jigging a site for my client and have installed the plugin (v.0.5). It works fine if you use a mouse to click on the links – but if you use the keyboard – arrow down and hit enter I get a strange error. Go here to view:
I’ve got it working fine on another site over here
Any ideas?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
Just tried your dev site in FF, and it appears to work just fine.
What kind of errors are you getting?
Nice implementation of the plugin, BTW – and fast to respond…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly…
If you do a search and use the keyboard it posts to this url http://www.turbosmart.com.au/tp/?q=help
when it should be going here http://www.turbosmart.com.au/tp/index.php?s=search&q=help
Any ideas on how to get it posting to index.php?s=search

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_search
I’m not sure we are on the same wavelength here ;-)
If I type in ‘boost’ in the search field, I can then use either mouse or keyboard to move up and down the list of articles presented and select one I want to view and it goes to that article just fine.
If I type in the word ‘sleep’ in the search field and hit enter, I get sent to: http://www.turbosmart.com.au/tp/search?q=sleep – which present as a 404 error.
Is that what you mean?
Sorry if I’m being slow…
