the problem with validated swf
There is the satay method, and a number of js methods but none I have used work on ie6.
Does anyone here knows of a method which validates in xhtml and works in all modern browsers.
I use the satay method <a href=“http://hblack.net/hblack/index.php?id=97”>here</a> and deconcept’s flashobject method <a href=“http://neme.org/main/309/nostalgic-technology”>here</a>.
Neither methods show the swf in ie6.
Does anyone know of a method which validates and loads the swf in all modern main (firefox, netscape, ie6, opera) browsers?
I am currently very close in dumping valid xhtml. What’s the point of working towards validation if part the content is not visible to <a href=“http://www.thecounter.com/stats/2006/February/browser.php”>86%</a> of web users?

Re: the problem with validated swf
Colak, when you use the satay method… are you using the “little container loader movie (that loads the big swf) method”?
I used to had problems with that method an IE6, so I simple removed the container movie.
But I’m also sure that once I make the container movie work on IE6… cant remember at this moment, but I will try to find it out.

2 excellent methods i’ve used are ufo and flacess , both of which very easily let you specify alternate content.
