Forum-specific duties and volunteers

Volunteers from the community that help keep everything tickety-boo. :)

  • Dale/mrdale & Els: How Do I…? & Other Questions
  • Andrew & Patrick/hakjoon: Plugins
  • NyteOwl: Layout & CSS
  • Matthew/ma_smith & Michael/michaelkpate: Present and Coming Attractions
  • Julián/maniqui & Rick/rsilletti: How-tos and Examples
  • Bert/hcgtv: Let’s See Yours, Then
  • Destry: TextBook
  • Nils/Skubidu: Deutsch
  • colak & Jeremie: Feature Ideas
  • Jeremie: Français

There may be some changes/additions here and there, as I still have a few things to work through, but overall, this is the list of moderators. And obviously, more will be requested to join our number as there is need.

Thanks for agreeing to pitch in everyone, it is greatly appreciated by me, and by the rest of our community.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

Mary, I don’t know what it means to “moderate”. But I will volunteer to help “watch over” some of the major threads I’ve been getting involved in, try to sum up, make lists out of the contributions, stuff like that. And to create some sticky posts (maybe on “other useful software”). {Please don’t send me to the wiki to do that}. So let me know what you need. I’m very much interested in the new forum: “Organizing Community Contributions” so I can help Alex out if she needs it. I also spend a fair amount of time in Textpatter.

Edit: Actually I do know what it means to “moderate” a forum and how to use the software, what I’m unclear about is the guidelines for moderating TXP forums. I had a professor once who said each time he moves to a new teaching environment he asks: What can’t we do here? He says it’s the shorter path to acclimating to a new environment.

Mary,

Let me know how I can help out, just fill me in on the rules.

I’m familiar with PunBB, I help moderate the PunBB forums.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

I’d like to help.

I’ve learned quite a bit about TXP from the contributions of others and can answer a lot of the more basic questions about tags, site development with TXP, css, etc.

Let me know…

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

I’ll help out anyway I can. What are the duties that need filing?

I spend most of my time in plugins, Layout and CSS, and textpatter. I also enjoy winter walks on the beach and gelato.

I can monitor the Portuguese forum if there is a need, although there’ s not really much activity there.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

I would be quite pleased to help out with Feature Requests, How Do I…?, or anywhere else that is needed.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

Mary,
I’m down. Looking forward to seeing how I can help and/or cause an utter collapse in logic?
Seriously, let me know what needs doing, and what you think I’d be good at. I don’t have empty hands as my wife’s blog attests to, but hey, you know I’m invested in this place. Bring it.

Hakjoon, —-> lol

[lol Matthew.. oh no, we do not leave you in causing utter collapse in logic]

How about Els aka doggiez to become one of the ‘How to’ moderators? He/she is doing a great job on that already.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

I second that about Doggiez. Els is really really helpful in thinking things through.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

I can help moderate other forums if needed. The Feature Request for example.

Re: Forum-specific duties and volunteers

Oh okay… here I am trying so hard to stay away from this particular forum and then people start bringing up my name, thanks a lot ;) I wouldn’t even have noticed if Mary had not emailed me. But actually, it’s really nice to see that you’re thinking about me :)
So I replied to Mary “why not”. Time to do something in return for everything I gained from this forum.

Mind that I’m not a coder nor a designer nor anything else that could be helpful… I’m just a happy TXP user.

And now I’m awaiting instructions…

Oh and Alex, I’m definitely a she.
