[feedback] I think the TXP Community rocks because . . .
Ok I’ll start.
Please, please make this thread longer than the other.
Let’s build ourselves a list that Dean would be proud of!
(and that some of which can be incorporated into the documentation)
- it’s dynamic and responsive
- it’s creative and talented
- it doesn’t have bad breath
- it’s challenging
- it’s whatever you make out of it (right Zem and Sencer?)
- it’s global
- it’s prolific and articulate
- and the software doesn’t suck

I think the TXP Community rocks because . . .
- you
- me
- everybody!
- it’s small and big at the same time
- it’s usually helpful with new members
- and older ones are always learning new things, even from newbies
- it is fun
- it isnt too geek

Re: [feedback] I think the TXP Community rocks because . . .
Since I’m a newbie to the community, I’d like to comment on why Textpattern rocks.
After having visited just about every site on TXP Magazine, I came away with a feeling that anyone who grabs the code base is compelled to build esthetically pleasing sites.
This effect on designers is very unique, nowhere did I see someone use Textpattern and create an unpleasing experience with it. The less-is-more mentality appears to transcend from the software to the end user, almost like a mantra is passed on.
In the age of broadband and screaming super computers under our desks, it’s refreshing to see a community building web presences for users on 56k modems and vintage Pentiums.
Rock on!

The TXP community rocks because …
- It’s international
- They are some of the nicest people I’ve met online
- It is equal parts coder, designer and writer
- They care, about the community and the software
- Cheese is brought up quite frequently
- TXP is so mature we forget it’s still only the first (non RC, beta, gamma) stable version
- The software wraps itself around you in a way that is not real easy to explain
- I think I still only know about 5% of what TXP can do
I’m sure I’ll think of more.

The TXP Community rocks because it doesn’t need a thread like this. The sentiment behind this thread is quite nice, mind you. People are probably not posting because they don’t feel they need to. If you look at the forum everyone is helpful and their is next to no trolling. People really don’t need to be reminded how good things are here. Even the infamous thread of doom wasn’t particularly nasty by internet standards.

See you contributed even by saying it’s unnecessary :)
And you are right this is about the friendliest online forum I have ever dealt with.

I think the TXP Community rocks because . . .
- is a big group hug
- as hakjoon said: “I think I still only know about 5% of what TXP can do”
- it uses a nice forum script, like PunBB
- you dont need to know PHP
- people non-programmer (like me) can feel like they are “programming” by using “txp:if_” and “txp:else” tags

This forum rocks, TXP rocks, These people rock.
I agree with Ramanan, it doesn’t need saying or “it goes without saying”, but I think its worth mentioning.
- I have been helped by txp forum folks on a number of occasions when it was out of pure help
- I have been encouraged to participate and enjoyed doing so
- I have actually been able to start a freelance business from the stuff I have learned primarily on this forum
I dig it the most.
Good call Nuetrino.
