When trying to upload a 9mb MP3 file Txp just hangs. Does anyone know an easy way around this or to avoid this?

Thanks.

Re: Uploading Large Files

Colak,
I’m gonna guess, from previous conversations with cap_nemo, that he is interested in making this as easy for the end-user as possible? Am I right bro?

My personal best on the file upload was 4.5mb or something close to that.

There’s always this issue with end-users. Trying to convince them to have some type of “webmaster” or someone atleast somewhat tech savvy to run their site?

Yes, I can FTP it with no problem. I was just curious if TXP had a limit as to how much it can upload through the interface. And Ma_Smith was right in saying that i’m trying to figure this out for an end-user. If at all possible I would love it if i could be hands off to uploading large files and not have to get involved with FTPing information around.

Re: Uploading Large Files

Does the PHP upload limit apply to img files and .mp3, .doc, .txt, .pdf, etc. files alike? Maybe that’s the issue with size?

That’s my experience guys. It has little to do with TXP, but everything to do with the PHP limit.

Re: Uploading Large Files

Well thanks for your thoughts guys. It looks like the files are going to have to be uloaded via FTP. I did, however, just find out that if you drop a file in the txp ‘Files’ directory TXP will recognize it when you hit your files tab. THen you can add it into the txp db that way, sweet.
