blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
is the addition of bq..
to Txp textile on the drawing board?
I think it’s sorely needed in a publishing tool. I know I should go do some atom/rss testing now : )

Re: blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
does bq.. (two dots) means that it is for several paragraphs? this would be a nice feature.

I think this is in Textile 2 which is not part of TXP, though.

Re: blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
There was a hack posted somewhere that would let you use the blockquote tags and everything would work properly. (Textile wouldn’t wrap the blockquote tags in paragraph tags, as it does now, but the actual paragraphs would be marked up properly.) You’ll need to search the forums for it. This was posted eons ago.

Re: blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
you need to add a leading space before the blockquote tags.. something like the following
<code><blockquote></code><br>
this is the first para.
this is the second para.
<code></blockquote></code>
<br>
But I agree, if there was some facility inside of textile to do this more cleanly I’m all for it. This is one of my most used cases of needing to resort to HTML inside posts.
(and wow.. was that a pain in the ass to format so it presents properly on the board)

Re: blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
I’ve been using this on one site: An Unofficial Enhanced Version of Textile 2.0 beta … but I reckon it’s an important feature when you’re marking up a lot of text
thanks placenamehere, that’s a workaround I didn’t know

Re: blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
Any word on whether Textile 2 will ever be incorporated into Txp? I’m aware of Greenrift’s hack to get it working, and the one nardo linked to is another option, but I’d prefer to see it officially included.

Most likely never, not as part of the core. We’ve looked at the code, and it’s just too big and bloated.
(Oh, wait.. I’m referring to the PHP Textile 2 derived from Brad Choate’s Perl code. This is the first time I’ve heard of the version linked above)

Re: blockquotes containing multiple paragraphs
I think support for multiple paragraphs inside a blockquote is badly needed. At the moment the html output just looks ugly when having to use “bq.” for each new paragraph in order for them to look like one block of quoted text.
I’ve tried to work around this problem in CSS by applying line-height rules to multiple selectors (i.e. “blockquote p br”), but that doesn’t seem to work for some reason.
(By the way, having “HTML: on” below the edit box here would be very helpful).

We’d welcome a patch.
