The Wooden Image

I just put up the skeleton of my site with txp. I am new at blogs and txp. I am slowly modifying the Gentle Calm template. I am going to integrate PayPal with this site and some Processing(java – www.processing.org) with this site. This is a wip, but any crits and comments will help. Thanks.

The Wooden Image

For me, there is too much wasted space/whitespace.

Consider making things a little more compact.

Re: The Wooden Image

I am adding more content, and learning how to do a soe friendly header/banner image. When I shrink the browser window it sizes accordingly. Do I need to just cut down the spacing the css file on all margins or content areas? Thanks for the input.

Re: The Wooden Image

I like the color-scheme of the site.

I agree with Paul -> (“Consider making things a little more compact.”)
a suggestion: you could add some nice icon to lists and as you said yourself add a friendly header/banner image.

Nevertheless, for a start this is well done. Once you are finished, let me know and i will add it to the collection.

Re: The Wooden Image

Thanks for the comments. The color-scheme is Gentle Calm’s. I will be experimenting with my own palette soon. I am now working on how to do the “proper” banner image in txp. I want it to be searchable and txp/css correct. Thanks.

Re: The Wooden Image

It’s been a while, but I added a few, yes a few things. I changed the padding a bit. I am tackling an online preview module where people can use an applet to preview their photo as a 3d mesh rendered in a facsimile of what the carving will look like. I am also integrating PayPal as my cart/shopping method. Thanks.

Re: The Wooden Image

The images overlap the right column for me unless I drag my window out wide. You could resize your images or try <code>img {max-width: 100%;} </code> or make your main column a fixed width

Re: The Wooden Image

Thanks, zero. I just bought a new laptop, widescreen. Is there a way to open a fixed-size window in firefox? Like 640×400, so I can catch these mistakes. Thanks.

Re: The Wooden Image

Great tool! Thanks. I made the changes so that it views ok in 800×600. Now on to some php stuff.
