Categorization
I want to list every available Category2 available for a particular Category1.
Is there a plugin that can do someting like this?
Explanation: I’m putting together a site for a friend who’s a goldsmith. He’s got different series of jewelery, and within each series there might be stuff for neck, ear, wrist or finger, or any combination of those. So each piece of jewelery has two possible categorizations: A series, and where it’s supposed to go on the body.
A customer might want to view items by series (if there’s one style that’s of particular to them) or by placement (if they are, say, looking for a ring).
Also, he needs other sections, like news, about, etc. So I can’t use the sections to solve my problem.
I thought I might use the two possible categories for the series/type categorization. But I would need a way of listing all different Category2 categories within all posts with a certain Category1. (Hard to put into easily understandable words, that one.)
Example: Category1 is the “series”, Category2 is the body placement. Choose one series named “Bones”, and on every page displaying items from that series you’ll get a list of all the available types of jewelery (Category2) in that series. So if he’s made only rings and necklaces in that series, only “Finger” and “Neck” would displayed.
For the other way around (if a user chooses “Finger” to look at rings, for example) there’s really no need to display a list of different series; all items with Category2 set to “Finger” would be listed.
Help? :-)

Re: Categorization
Maybe use Category1 for series, then custom fields for the other?
Articles Sorted By Custom Fields
There’s also a couple custom field plugins

mdm_if_custom
