multiple file upload

Is there a plugin that enables mutliple file uploads to your TXP install? I’m thinkng especially of image files, in comparison to the deafult way of doing it.

I’ve searched both here and textpattern.org and no joy, so my guess is either no ones done it :( or its tucked away somewhere in an obscure post that you can’t find :)

Anyone know? I think this is one of those basic but incredibly enabling functions TXP needs to have.

Re: multiple file upload

The standard way of uploading in to TXP is one file at a time. To add a lot of files so they are available for download, you can use some other means, like FTP to upload the files to the holding directory and create entries for those uploaded files.

Re: multiple file upload

Is that possible?
My server uses a wierd /tmp directory for uploads, for which I do not have ftp access. Yes I can create a folder to dump as many files as I like with ftp, but then TXP has to find that folder and recognise the files.

Am I missing something here? I’m looking for the kind of functionality you see at the menalto.gallery.com applications, making it easy to upload and organise multiple files.

Re: multiple file upload

The files folder used by txp can be changed from within the Admin->Prefs tab. This is the folder that you should FTP files to. By default, this folder is the same as the tmp folder.

Re: multiple file upload

OK so maybe thats part of the solution, but if you do it that way presumably you still have to press and click on every file so TXP recongisnes it and gives it an identity?

Still think this needs a basic plugin, if thats what you have to do……
