Search finds articles with future publish date

Sometimes I set the publish date of an in the future. That article is not shown anywhere before the given date, but it can appear in search result. Is this a bug or feature?

I can’t get Textpattern to show articles that have a future post date. This is a necessary feature for an Events Calendar. How can this be done?
(I think this is on the flipside of the original comment- more along the “feature” rather than the “bug” aspect…)

Also, is there a way for search to find Sticky articles?
