Re: can i use Caddy to run a Textpattern website ?
That is probably possible, as long as you can set up something equivalent to the .htaccess
file. Some people around here use Hiawatha, and IIRC Lighttpd.
Have a look at the relevant server setup documentation page if you haven’t done that already.

There are numerous ways to run Caddy with PHP, including (but not limited to):
- Caddy’s
php_fastcgi
directive – here - PHP-FPM – here
- an app server, like FrankenPHP

I can’t speak for Caddy, but Textpattern runs great on LiteSpeed (and of course Apache too).

It would be great if you could let us know how you get on. It would be especially interesting to hear which PHP route you took and what a working CaddyFile for Textpattern would look like.
Here are two run-downs on translating apache .htaccess
rules to CaddyFile from other CMSes / services (Kirby meets Caddy and ServBay). Textpattern’s .htaccess file bears similarities to those.

I concur. I have a client whose host switched to Litespeed and there were no issues.

Re: can i use Caddy to run a Textpattern website ?
I’d be interested to know how you get on as well.
I’m using Caddy on my development servers and went down the PHP-FPM route. I did look at FrankenPHP but I’m struggling to understand Docker; it’s a completely different way of working compared to my current workflow.
I love Caddy’s simplicity. Having all the Configuration in the Caddy file just makes sense to me in a way that I can understand.
I haven’t got round to trying Caddy with Textpattern (or any other CMS’) yet. I’m using it to serve plain old PHP pages at the moment.
