Forum downtime, September 27-28 2024
The Textpattern forum was down for a period on the above dates.
The flexible gluey stuff that connects PHP to MySQL appears to have to got a little too sticky & rigid with the arrival of PHP 8.1.30, which was released yesterday.
PHP 8.1 is an older version of PHP, and is in security support – that is to say, it is only updated when security issues are resolved. The Textpattern forum runs on a modified version of the FluxBB software, which is itself quite old.
I have made some changes to the MySQL configuration, and tweaked the PHP configuration, and things appear to be back online.
I am sorry for the unintended downtime. Thank you for your patience while it was fixed. Thank you to Bloke for the (very polite) heads up.
