update failure, 4.6 to 4.8.8

This is a small site I haven’t touched in about 5 years.

Here is the error seen upon login:

User_Error “Duplicate entry ’1-pane_article_textfilter_help_visible-admin’ for key ‘prefs_idx’”
in /home/username/public_html/textpattern/lib/txplib_db.php at line 453.

textpattern/lib/txplib_admin.php:772 adminErrorHandler()
updateErrorHandler()
textpattern/lib/txplib_db.php:453 trigger_error()

The home page comes up with just two words:
