RSS not working
I’m using this in a line in my side-wide footer: <txp:feed_link flavor="rss" section="notes" label="RSS" />
, which seems correct. But I cannot get the feed reader I’m using to find it.
Can someone check my site for me and see if they can pick up the feed? Maybe it’s this reader. Maresee bokoo.

Re: RSS not working
Yes that works fine, Safari shows (screenshot) me that it detects the feed, and my feed reader can used – Vienna-RSS fetched 3 articles.

Thank you, Philip. Seems Reeder is shite.

Re: RSS not working
your rss link in the footer opened up Apple News for me but i didn’t see your articles in their list of news items.
On another note…what a wonderful quirky site you have dear Mr. Wion .
A throwback to a better web!

I think you first need to register a site for it to appear in their list (?). I never used Apple News as it is not available here to us lesser mortals.

Re: RSS not working
On an older version of Safari clicking on the RSS link in the footer causes textedit to open an xml file.
I am sure this is not the desired outcome.

But do you have a RSS (feed) reader available on that computer ? If no, then that is a possible actions the OS can take, as TextEdit can handle XML files.

Re: RSS not working
My problem is that the Reeder app I use for reading feeds from other sites, which works just fine, will not accept the feed link to my site, which makes me think there’s a problem with my feed. But I can’t tell one way or the other.
To add a new feed to read in Reeder, you copy/paste the RSS link into a box, hit “Search”, let the Reeder find the feed and load the posts, et voila.
But, it does not work with my rendered RSS URL.

Destry I just tried with NetNewsWire and it reports: This site isn’t responding. It may be temporarily down
but your site is viewable as a webapge

Thanks, bici. I’m baffled, but I’ll keep digging.

Re: RSS not working
There is something wrong with your server or Textpattern configuration.
The W3C feed validator tells me:
It looks like this is a web page, not a feed. I looked for a feed associated with this page, but couldn't find one. Please enter the address of your feed to validate.
I tried the feed reader I have on my phone and that – of course – gives me the same result as NNW. Odd that my default reader (Vienna) accept it. As a possible reason (far fetched, though): I was already subscribing to your feed from a while ago.
