PSA - Chrome (Chromium ?) “Privacy Sandbox”
Chrome begins some public testing of their Orwellian named “Privacy Sandbox” – this would be a replacement for tracking via third-party cookies. So far only in Canary (development) builds, but expect to see this in a release build in the near future. The previous incarnation of the same beast was FLOC (forum discussion here and following ). It is not yet clear if this will be included in any non-Google Chromium build (Brave / Edge / Opera / etc). Hopefully for Chrome users their will be an opt-out once that feature(hmmm) is live everywhere.
Report by Ron Amadeo for ArsTechnica (it includes a link to the Chromium blogpost).
Where is that emoji for a solar powered submarine when you need it ?
