Build/task runner tool recommendation for 2022?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a build/task runner tool recommendation, if you have one. I’ve previously used Grunt and Webpack, and toyed with Rollup a bit – I find Webpack particularly painful to configure and Grunt is not as well supported as it once was – so I’m looking to migrate.

Has anyone had experience of Parcel, ESbuild or Snowpack and can provide setup tips? Seems to be the major alternatives at the moment.

Note: I don’t use React or Vue – this would be mainly for website builds.

I’d be interested too. I’d not heard of Parcel until I saw the Parcel CSS article on CSS tricks yesterday.

I still use CodeKit. It works fine but sidesteps your question.
