Fatal error: timezone settings

Yikes. A fatal error doesn’t sound great.

Changing servers with my host and suddenly one website is not functioning. It was loading correctly previously.

My webpage is not loading. Instead, I get a rather alarming message:

Warning "date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected the timezone 'UTC' for now, but please set date.timezone to select your timezone."

I think I am running TXP 4.8.4.

Will updating to TXP 4.8.7 resolve this?

Cheers

Edit

Nope, get the login page but then get the fatality once again.

Re: Fatal error: timezone settings

Just to clarify.

The webpage is loaded but I can’t access the admin pages.

Re: Fatal error: timezone settings

It’s a server setting. I honestly thought we trapped that. Bad Textpattern.

See StackOverflow for a quick solution if you have access to php.ini.

Re: Fatal error: timezone settings

I’ve used this sort of thing in php.ini to fix this issue in the past:

date.timezone = Australia/Melbourne

Re: Fatal error: timezone settings

I was just poking around and looking at the timezone.php file.

Pacific/Auckland looks like the one.

Re: Fatal error: timezone settings

Hooray!! This has been resolved.

It turns out that the name servers were in limbo while the website was transferred from one host to another. Nothing to do with txp. Just operator error.

Or. The config file was still for the old database.

Or something else. Anyway, things are working perfectly once again.

Fatality overcome.

Re: Fatal error: timezone settings

Is this for the bluelake site, btw? If so, you’ll also need the latest smd_lib to get rid of that warning on the front page.
