PHP Disabled into articles and shortcodes

After a long time to investigate, I found out that “Allow PHP into articles” preference sets to ☑ No disabled our custom shortcodes (based on some PHP code inside).

Isn’t that a little strict?

Shortcodes are created by advanced users (supposed to know what they do) and on the other side, setting the above parameter allow writers to inject PHP in articles… Cruel dilemma. 🥴
