Popchar is the only one I use (also available for Windows as Popchar Win and it’s exceptionally useful for finding those lost characters. I find the UI a bit OTT and gave the much cleaner Entity Pro a try, but in actual use Popchar is eminently more useful.

i need to share this! i have a HP Scanner 3970. it stopped working a few years ago when i updated the OS. HP no longer supported newer versions of macOS’s with new drivers. So my scanner was bricked. I finally bought VueScan and i was back in the scanning biz. Albeit it was s l o w after a few years went by. About two-three months ago, after doing i don’t know what, i suddenly had HP Scan Pro running again and it worked! And it is very fast! Occasionally it hangs and i have to retry 3-4 times.. Gremlin in the machine

A different take on Black Friday by Adriaan at Simple Analytics, a cookie-less, privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant tracking solution. It’s not free but contains all the key data you need in an easy to use and presentable format (public demo on the page). $9/month (by yearly payment) gets you up to 100,000 page view per month, which you can spread across multiple domains (and customers). Great if you have multiple clients with small sites and would like to provide clear-conscious stats without the cookie consent bar. In my view, if you have a couple of sites the cost is less than that of implementing cookie bars and data protection opt-outs for those sites. You also get back meaningful visitor stats rather than stats for only those visitors that choose to opt in.

Over the past six months it’s been consistently improved, with an API added just recently. It’s dead easy to implement and you can also place the embed code on your own domain. You can track specific events via js and if you send out mailings, you can segregate incoming clicks by utm url queries without tracking specific users. It’s by an independent creator with a transparent operation and European servers…
