A books editor's french website
Here is my lastest finished (non paid) project for a friend of mine and it is animated by Textpattern 🤭.
Due to delays in the delivery of books by the printer, it is not in production at this time (planned launch date: end of August).
I have open only one page for your curiosity: just add ebooks
at this address to access to the section:

Cool! Looks great.

Are ebooks delivered? ;-) Also, did you think about ‘Look-in-book’ previews?
But seriously … I’d love to know how you’ve done the cart? and how it pans out cost/fees-wise? When I click J’achète I get taken straight to the Stripe pay screen but not the cart.
Did you perhaps use one of the variants you suggested in this thread where I asked about gumroad, paddle, payhip and co. I haven’t managed to wean that client off weebly as yet and the possibilities within weebly are limited. The options I looked at in that thread ended being barely worth it as the sales volumes would have been low and any profit mostly eaten up by the fees. A sticking point was also the selling in the EU ‘destination’ countries’ VAT which gumroad, paddle and co deal with for you … for a fee.

Thank you lot Julian.
For the Stripe gateway I use this solution: https://halfdata.com/green-downloads/stripe/

It does indeed look wonderfully minimally great!

Thank you lot, Yiannis.
The tool is pretty great, too (made with Textpattern CMS).

Re: A books editor's french website
Sure bici. For the Maintenance Mode the client doesn’t want to communicate an email address (before the official launch)

Thanks for the pointer. That looks good and affordable and Stripe has lower charges than Paypal (is that right?). I had a look at the demo and it looks like you can tailor it. May I ask how you deal with invoicing and VAT? Is that something Stripe takes care of, of something your client has to do separately?

Re: A books editor's french website
My client is not subject to VAT (a special status in France for very tiny compagnies named “auto-entrepreneur”) and this problem doesn’t exist in this case. Sorry Julian, I don’t know how Stripe deal with VAT. But yes, Stripe has lower fee than PayPal.
Note: the PHP script mentioned is jQuery dependant (a not so good point IMHU) for Ajax process (why loading a such huge library for only one feature?)…

Re: A books editor's french website
It is live, now (but without the ability to buy printed books: we’re waiting the creation of the PayPal account; but eBooks are available for sellings):

Largely done by Oleg (for it’s recurcive process on articles) and Jakob (with it’s efficient Regex).
Sorry: in French. Customers are only french.
